wow. so the first single featured on imeem's homepage is a k-pop artist, boa. Think britney spears of asia, minus the crazy-cutting-off-all-her-hair-baby-drama stuff.
okay, so don't get me wrong. i'm glad that k-pop artists are crossing over and getting attention in the US (i.e. rain aka bi). BUT i just wish korean-american artists could really be featured and highlighted here too (like, heather park). it's kind of backwards donchathink?
it's more of an upward hill battle for korean-americans (born and bred in the US, know the 'lingo,' no accent, talented as hell) than having pop artists from korea cross-over to the US market. ARG. are ppl in america just not that accepting of asian-american artists being at the forefront? is it really that big of a deal for people to accept that asian-americans don't have accents and can compete on the same level as other mainstream pop artists?
on the other hand, i guess we [asian-americans] need to prove our $$$$$ buying power.
